Sawasdee from Bangkok, Thailand 26.01.07

After an over night flight from Doha (Dipi slept ok but i didnt sleep a wink!) we landed in Bangkok's huge airport. The airport itself was pretty hussle and bussle with people trying to get you to take "taxi cab!" with them. We went to the street outside where we got a metered taxi (best way in bangkok) and we got our first taste of the heat that was to ensue. We arrived at the hotel in the Sukhumvit area, which has allegedly changed over the last few years into a fairly seedy area, but perfectly safe and plenty of things to do and see.


Not purturbed by this (in fact intrigued to be honest)we found our bearings, met up with our mate Colin and enjoyed a few days just going to street stalls to eat (fantastic food) and look at some weird and wonderful delicacies (locusts, deep fried frogs and bugs!), we even ended up in a few "bars" just for a laugh.


We were bascially just getting to know what was what really, as we were due to meet up on the Saturday night for the main event in bangkok which was to have a reunion for Dipi and her old school mates (from some 16 years ago!)
